Try my racing game: Selene Racer!

Published on 28 August 2026

After several weeks of testing with a few friends and family (okay, more than 200 of you actually got to play), I'm really happy to introduce Selene Racer, a fun little racing game that I built almost entirely on my own.

It all happens here: seleneracer.com.

Almost? Well yes, because I too wanted to see what was possible with vibe coding. So I got organized, installed a whole bunch of tools, and taught myself as much as I could.

It didn't all happen in a single prompt: there were more than 800 deployed versions, hours of testing, and plenty of things not handled by AI at all (like the intro music, played and composed by my nephew!).

What was my goal? I love racing games, and there are a few I really like but that I don't necessarily have on Mac or on my iPhone. I wanted to recapture the feel of those games, and make something you can play instantly, on any device. So the game runs in any browser: PC, Mac, iPhone, Android, iPad… Free, no ads, no install, no mandatory sign-up.

My inspirations? Big Red Racing, Star Wars Racer, Mario Kart, Micro Machines, and a few others.

Running the game in a browser meant quite a few graphics constraints, and the game is far from finished: I improve it a little every day (there's even an “Updates” screen in the menu to follow what changes). But it's already a lot of fun, and thousands of races have already been started since I began mentioning it here and there.

There are already 8 tracks, 2 championships, and two kinds of vehicles: wheeled rovers, and hovering speeders. The maps are based on the real geography of the Moon (the terrain comes from NASA's surveys), but the tracks are of course anything but realistic in the end, because I wanted it to be fun.

And there's my fun mode: free-roam mode. You click on any point on the Moon, absolutely any of them, and the game carves out the real terrain of that spot to generate a ride or a race. The far side, the lunar Alps, the Apollo 11 site: it's all drivable. Some terrain is a bit exaggerated to make it more fun, but you get the idea.

You can shoot at your opponents, use boosts, change the camera, the music, the control modes (a gamepad works too), and even play with others (but that's still very experimental, and it crashes quite a bit).

You can also create an account to save your best times, reserve your username, upload your own avatar, and soon get access to extra tracks. No password: an email address, a code you receive, and you're done. The game is also translated into 16 languages, in case you want to share it with people around you.

If I'm telling you about it today, it's because the game is genuinely very playable as it is. You can have a good laugh with it.

I created a dedicated domain name for the game that isn't blocked anywhere for now, so you can play it from work, from school, at home, on your iPhone, on your computer, on Wi-Fi, on 4G, whatever, it should work. And if it bugs out, you click on “A bug?” in the game and tell me about it, and I'll fix it!

That's it, I'll let you give it a try: seleneracer.com!
