An M.2 NVMe SSD in PCIe 4.0 format, rated at 7,300 MB/s read and 700 TB of cumulative writes before wear, installed here in a UGREEN DXP8800 Ultra NAS to host Docker containers, databases and Plex metadata. In a NAS, the 10 Gb/s network caps transfers at around 1 GB/s, but the real gain comes with small accesses where NVMe crushes mechanical drives. Expect between 130 and 170 euros per TB right now.
